Dr. Luke Harris is an Otolaryngologist/Head and Neck Surgeon (OtoHNS) who recently relocated to North Bay, Ontario, to join the Department of Surgery at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
Originally from Elliot Lake, Ontario, Dr. Harris received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from Laurentian University. He completed his medical doctorate at the University of Western Ontario in 2008, where he met his wife, Dr. Ann Marie McKenna.
Dr. Harris began his residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto in 2008. During this comprehensive five-year training program he was awarded the prestigious Shiley E.O. Pelausa Award, awarded to the OtoHNS resident demonstrating excellent clinical work. While in Toronto Dr. Harris worked with worldwide experts in the fields of head and neck surgery, facial plastic surgery, nasal/sinus surgery, and ear surgery. He excelled academically, achieving the highest overall standing in the 2013 Canadian Otolaryngology In-Training examination. He successfully completed his surgical fellowship examinations in May 2013, and is an accredited Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Harris practices the full scope of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. His specific interests include:
- thyroid nodules including ultrasound/fine needle biopsy (imaging and biopsy services available in Dr. Harris’ clinic)
- head and neck surgery (thyroid/parathyroid, parotid/salivary, cervical lymph nodes)
- skin lesions/malignancies
- nasal surgery (rhinoplasty, septoplasty/nasal obstruction surgery, sinus surgery)
- hearing loss and ear surgery
